Artist bio

Renowned for her show-stopping vocal prowess and her credentials as a hitmaking song writer, 25 year old Becky Hill is one of Britain’s most in-demand musical exports of the moment.

Following a killer year in 2019 with the release of three hits - including ‘I Could Get Used to This' (with Weiss), and ‘Lose Control’ (with Meduza and Goodboys) - Becky Hill is now the 2nd most listened to British female artist on Spotify in the UK. She has not only notched up over a billion streams, but also 16.5million monthly Spotify listeners. To put this in context: Jess Glynn has 12.8 million Spotify monthly listeners, Carly Rae Jepsen has 9.6 million, Charlie XCX has 10.8 million, Lorde has 9.7 million, Robyn has 3.3 million, Florence and the Machine has 8.9 million and Jorja Smith has 8.3 million. Becky Hill is ahead of them all.

Becky has an impressive string of hits to her name, having written and performed on seven singles which charted in the top 40 of the UK official singles chart, including one number 1, (‘Gecko (Overdrive)’ with Oliver Heldens) and two top 10 singles (‘Wish You Well’ with Sigala and ‘Afterglow’ with Wilkinson). Over and above this, she has collaborated with the likes of Rudimental, Matoma, Lil Simz and more, while her songwriting skills have been enlisted by artists ranging from MK, Tiesto, Jax Jones and Martin Solveig through to MNEK and Little Mix.

This is no mean feat considering only 17% of PRS for Music’s registered songwriters are female. Indeed, Becky Hill is flying the flag for women in th e music industry, both as a songwriter, and behind the scenes. Before signing a Joint Venture deal with Polydor in 2017, she founded and self-funded her own independent label, Eko Records (named after the 12 string guitar she watched her late uncle play as a child). While on her forthcoming Spring 2020 headline nationwide tour (which sold out within hours of going on sale) she will be hitting the road with a majority female crew (from her bassist and drummer through to her tour manager and sound engineer), all of whom were handpicked by Becky herself.

While Becky has an irrefutable aptitude for writing chart smashing pop music, her roots are firmly ensconced in electronic music. Evident not only from those she has collaborated in the studio with, but also her passion for the dance music scene. A passion that she explores in depth in her forthcoming 2020 podcast in which she discusses rave culture with its pioneers.

Radio 1's Greg James may have described her as “One of the most underrated popstars and vocalists in the world”, but with a slew of solo stellar singles and her debut album set for release in 2020, this is sure to change.
