Lightning

Track

There's more than one song by Charli XCX with this name: 1). "Lightning" is the eighth track from Charli's fifth studio album, 'Crash'. It is an 80's-influenced pop song which features heavy bass, vocoder and some stabbing synths. She stated: "It's another super important song to me because I made this song with Ariel Rechtshaid, who is somebody I've collaborated with since I was seventeen. He was a vital part of my album 'True Romance', and it was really special to go back to the studio with him and make this song "Lightning", which I feel like could've been a part of True Romance. It really embodies that 80's emotional spirit and drama, which was really inspiring me for this record". 2). "Lightning" is an unreleased song which was co-written and produced by SOPHIE in December 2017 and possibly intended for Charli's third studio album, 'Charli' (2019). The full version leaked online on November 17, 2021. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
