Artist bio

Chris Cargo has been at the forefront of electronic music in Ireland for over 10 years.

All styles of House Music find there way into Chris's sets - from Deep Murky House to tough Jackin Beats!

Described as 'perfect sex machine body music' by DJ Magazine and simply 'inspired' by M8 magazine. Chris manages to complement various styles into his djing sets, a journey if you like!

Its worldwide where Chris has really built up his fan base though and one look at his list of gigs merely confirms this. From Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam via Mexico, Siberia, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Vilnius, Hamburg, Athens in fact it would be easier to say were he hasn't been

From triumphant sets @ Lush! In Portrush, to wowing the crowds in Beijing, Belarus, Zurich and Moscow, to countless gigs in his native UK... Chris's thought of not sticking to one genre has proved dividend. As he explains "I couldn't stick to one genre" Chris says "it would just be boring plus a lot of djs get stuck playing the same sound over and over and before you know it you've been left behind so its important to take risks with your music"

Chris's productions and remixes perfectly compliment his Djing style with almost 40 to his name.

Weather it be under his breaks guise of Carganoid and re-editing the likes of Green Velvet or releasing chunky Progressive on Renaissance Chris is equally at home.

More recently Chris has collaborated alongside Barry Gilbey (Mara) to produce the monstrous 'Chunkafunk' on Choo Choo Records, which has gained heavy support from the likes of The Plump DJs and Meat Katie and was voted Mixmag's essential new tune!

Chris has also teamed up with Col Hamilton (C64) and under the Hamilton: Cargo alias have released 'Broken Piano' on Futureshock's new label Pravo which has gained big ups from the likes of Steve Lawler, Nic Fancuilli and King Unique.

Add to that the mighty 'Cityscape' on Renaissance, 'Shift It' on Choo Choo, 'You R' on Kumquat tunes 'Warning' on Slide Recordings and the mighty "You Askd For This" on Adjust and you can see why Chris is widely regarded as one of Ireland's top producers.

On top of all this he has also just finished remixing the legendary Rozalla- Everybody's Free which is forthcoming on Italian label Loud Bit, plus remixes for Ricky Stone & Kid Lopez, Hardy Heller and Inkfish.

Further confirming Chris's mass appeal numerous compilation appearances for the likes of Renaissance, Intec, Seb Fontaine,Danny Howells, Valentino Kanzyani, Anthony Pappa, Slinky,Privledge-Ibiza, Global Underground and many more have further confirmed Chris's wide appeal and quality output making it easy to see why Chris is as well known in Eastern Europe as he is in his native Belfast.

2006 has also seen Chris complete a month long tour of China in association with Smirnoff Black, China Loop and Renaissance as well as launch his own monthly mix show for the Balance Record Pool on Proton Radio.

2007 looks set to be another massive year for Chris with a shopping basket full of productions and remixes already lined up for release, added to this a heavy djing schedule and his debut album.
