Who hasn’t heard of Canadian rapper, singer and songwriter Drake? From Grammy-winning songs like meme-favorite ‘Hotline Bling’, to creative collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Nicki Minaj and DJ Khaled, Drake is a Hip-Hop and R&B heavyweight. And currently, Lickd’s top searched-for artist.

Rising from obscurity in a role on Degrassi: The Next Generation, Drake broke out onto the music scene with a series of mixtapes and collaborated as a still unsigned artist with Trey Songz. With support from goliaths in the industry such as Kanye West, Jay-Z and Lil Waybe, by 2009 he scored a number two hit on Billboard with “Best I Ever Had.” Album “Thank Me Later” debuted at number one in June 2010, and successive albums went on to also claim that number one spot around the world, platinum certifications, and numerous music awards.

In 2022, Drake signed one of the largest contracts in music business history with Universal, and surprise-released his eleventh US number-one album “Honestly, Nevermind” breaking several streaming records.
