Hailing from Walthamstow, Olivia Dean’s voice is undeniable but it’s her youthful Friday-night-down-the-pub storytelling that really sets her apart.
‘Password Change’ is a stellar example of this; the track was written about a low-key fight with her boyfriend after a few too many pints at the England v Tunisia match and that classic British reaction of pretending everything is fine in front of your mates. The track has piqued the interest of tastemakers such as FADER, i-D, Clash and Line of Best Fit and earned her a BBC Introducing gig in December alongside Hak Baker following the release of her hypnotic debut EP, ‘Ok Love You Bye’.
