Debuted in 1993 with its album selling more than 30 million worldwide. "The Sign" was used in Prehistoric Ice Man, a 1999 South Park episode for Larry to listen to in his 1996 oriented habitat. Their first album The Sign was given the Guinness World Record for "Best-Selling Debut Album" It reached the number 1 position in at least sixteen countries: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom and United States.
