Artist bio

Ashley Casselle is one of those DJs who constantly keeps the elements he loves within the
sanctuary of his DJ sets, productions and remixes. His lush deep yet pumping
house/techno blend has won him fans from all corners of the globe and now with his
pioneering new deep electro and post minimal sound, he's pushing the boundaries even
further still. As comfortable playing in tiny dark rooms and after parties in Shoreditch as
he is at festivals all over the world in front of big crowds, Ash is a unique DJ who
understands how to release the excitement levels continuously and work a room with
dance floor magic in his trademark 'grooveathon' sets, as he says “I'm at my best warming
up for myself then letting rip in the following hours”.
As he found himself ten years ago as the gargantuan uber‐mega DJ's choice of warm up
jock, he learnt his craft by providing the likes of Sasha, Digweed, Paul van Dyk and Carl Cox
with satisfying opening sets at the end of the nineties, as he began carving a reputation
for spinning his unique house sound to the masses and exciting clubbers with electric
performances…

When both DJ Mag and Mixmag singled him out in 2000 as a future hero and one to
watch respectively, he quickly rose thru the ranks becoming an international superstar DJ,
appearing in and scoring residencies in clubs such as Space Ibiza, Vinyl New York, Giant LA,
Cream's hallowed courtyard, Warung in Brazil and Pyramidia in Russia (an awe inspired
club shaped as a pyramid no less!), catapulting high into the Top 100 DJs poll, and helped
by a sublime set of smash club singles he even found time to have his image immortalised
for display in the National Portrait Gallery.

Bolstered and defined by his productions and remixes as Ashtrax and more recently the
Remote, as well as ground breaking and era defining DJ mix compilations such as his
seminal Deviations CD and Radio1 Essential Mix (which was hailed as one of the all time
best), he has recently been working on productions and remixes for Wall of Sound and
Global Underground alongside production partner and hot underground house DJ Asad
Rizvi. Added to this, Casselle has been in studio recently with some of the hottest names
in deep techno, James Holden and Future Beat Alliance to name just a couple, making an
atmospheric yet dance floor friendly new mix album/artist affair which he'll be touring
