Originally published in 1953, Leroy Anderson was masterful at making the everyday sounds "come alive" in his compositions. Of course, in 1953 the sound of the typewriter was commonplace, including the bell at the end of the line. Mr. Anderson wrote this lively piece with the typewriter and a percussion instrument and the bell and carriage returns had to be timed just right. Read more on Last.fm.
