Murder on My Mind

“Murder on My Mind” is YNW Melly’s breakout song. It depicts a dark, upsetting story of Melly shooting a close friend and holding him in his arms as he slowly lost consciousness and died. Melly also mentions his previous jail time served for gun charges and drug possession. “Murder on My Mind” was soon followed up by a sequel, “Mind on My Murder,” which depicts the same events of this song from the victim’s perspective. It is subsequent in the album’s tracklisting. The shooting he refers to in this song happened in 2016 or earlier, it is NOT a confession for charges he is currently facing. Read more on Last.fm.
